This project is developing a personal diary web application to help individuals with OCD record and track their condition. Individuals will be able to record their emotions, exposure events, intrusive thoughts, and other data. The application aims to help you record this information easily and then be able to retrieve it and visualize it over time. The aim is to help you understand your condition, and hopefully facilitate the management of the condition by yourself and in therapy sessions.
How will the research be done and what will I have to do?
The research will take place entirely online. In the first instance you will be invited to complete a simple questionnaire to give your thoughts about features that would be useful to include in the application, e.g. is it useful to give you the opportunity to record your medications?
After the application is developed, we will need you to try it out online and give us feedback on whether you can understand how to use and whether it is easy to use.
Your participation is completely voluntary and you may withdraw at any point.
No personal information is required. Only an email contact will be required if you wish to help us with the assessment of the system, after which the email information will be deleted.
What about information confidentiality and security?
We will hold your data securely and not make it available to any third party unless permitted or required to do so by law. No personally identifiable data will be collected from you during this research. Any personal data is processed in accordance with the applicable UK data protection legislation and has already been granted approval by the Ethics Committee of Cardiff University.
